A Puppy is moving in

A puppy as a new family member is wonderful.

The arrival of a puppy in your home comes with responsibility and should be well prepared. For a smooth start in your home, here is some advice:

  • Preparation: Create a quiet and comfortable retreat for the puppy. It should be safe and free of small parts or dangerous objects. Secure stairs with a gate at first.
  • Initial equipment: Basic equipment includes food and water bowls, a dog bed or blanket, a leash, a collar and harness, toys, and grooming items such as a brush.
  • Food: Ask the breeder or animal shelter about the puppy's usual food. An abrupt change in food can lead to digestive problems. We happily advise you on the optimal food for your new family member.
  • Vet visit: A visit to the vet should be scheduled within the first few days to check your dog's health and to give the necessary shots.
  • Patience and consistency: A puppy still has a lot to learn. Be patient and consistent in your training so your dog knows what is expected of him.
  • Socialization: Young dogs should gain as many new experiences as possible. This includes encounters with other dogs and people as well as various environmental stimuli.

The first few weeks with a puppy can be challenging, but also incredibly rewarding. With love, patience, and consistency, you and your new companion will become a well-coordinated team. Enjoy this exciting and educational time together!
