before an operation

Is your pet going to have an operation?

Before an operation, it is important to come in for a consultation with your pet so that a veterinarian can examine it to ensure that it is fit to be anesthetized and also address questions relating to the operation and anesthesia, this includes, among other things, instructions regarding the fasting period to be respected and the possible administration of medication in the pre- and post-operative period.

Animals are examined again upon arrival on the same day of surgery. They are operated on in the morning and can normally go home in the morning or afternoon if the surgery went well.
