Jean-Marc Merienne

Office management

Originally from Arlon in Belgium, I studied at the University of Liège and obtained my doctorate in veterinary medicine in June 2000. Subsequently, I worked directly in various mixed clinics in France, where I acquired solid experience for three years with competent and experienced veterinarians.

In September 2003, a friend who worked at the Mersch Veterinary Practice and who wanted to stop his activity offered me to take over his place and that is how in October 2003, I joined the Mersch Veterinary Practice as an associate. The practice's clientele was then mixed (pets, livestock, horses) and grew rapidly over the years until we decided in 2014 to stop rural and equine practices to devote ourselves fully to pets.

As my colleagues and I strive to provide quality service while taking into account the latest knowledge and developments, I participate every year in various congresses and other continuing education courses in different fields as well as specialized training courses in soft tissue surgery, particularly in laparoscopic surgery. In addition to internal medicine, my favorite field has always been surgery, which I practice with passion.

Wendy van Zonneveld - Team

Wendy van Zonneveld

Office management

My name is Wendy van Zonneveld. Since my childhood, I have known the Veterinary Practice Mersch well, which was already our veterinary center at that time. I started my studies in veterinary medicine in 1999 in Utrecht, the Netherlands. During this period, I was often back in Mersch, where I helped out in the practice during the holidays, in order to learn this beautiful profession as best as possible.

In 2006, I was fortunate enough to join the team and work here as a veterinarian. My primary interest was in companion animals, but I also really enjoyed looking after large animals in the early years.

In the following years, we were able to continue to develop the pet sector and we constantly improved our knowledge in this area through continuous training.

In the office, I enjoy interacting with owners and animals. I enjoy working on difficult cases and can often be found performing ultrasounds of the heart and abdomen. I am particularly interested in managing emergency and intensive care patients. I enjoy alternating between internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.

Outside of work, I never get bored at home with 4 children, a dog, a cat, a rabbit and a horse. I like walking in nature or diving. After all these years, I am still very happy to be part of this team!

Office Management

I grew up in southern Germany in an agricultural environment. After my ecological volunteer year in Lithuania, I studied veterinary medicine at the Tierärztliche Hochschule Hannover in Germany and graduated in 2010. Immediately afterwards, I wrote my thesis in the Immunology working group at the Tierärztliche Hochschule Hannover and obtained my doctorate in 2012. From 2012 to 2016, I looked after cattle, horses, donkeys, goats and sheep in the veterinary practice of Dr. Bootz, located on the banks of the beautiful Lake Constance. After moving to Luxembourg with my husband, I joined the Veterinary Practice in Mersch in 2017, which I have been co-managing since 2022.

In addition to the daily contact with humans and animals, I am particularly interested in internal medicine. At the same time, I focus on endoscopy of the gastrointestinal tract and will continue to train in this exciting field.

Anais Stammet - Team

Anais Stammet

My name is Anaïs Stammet. Since my childhood, I have always been interested in animal welfare, which led me to undertake veterinary studies. As a Belgian-Luxembourgish citizen, I wanted to study in Belgium, first in Namur for the baccalaureate and then in Liège for the master's degree.

As I love to travel, I did an internship in Corsica, where I had the chance to care for many different animal species. In July 2022, I realized my dream and graduated.

In September 2022, I immediately started my career at the Veterinary Practice in Mersch, where I practice general medicine and soft tissue surgery. I continue to enthusiastically follow training courses in all areas, but what particularly piqued my interest were dermatology, endocrinology and medicine for rodents and rabbits. Later, I would like to specialize as an animal behavior therapist.

In order to best meet the needs of your animal, I am at your disposal at the practice.

My name is Michèle Rauch and I was born on July 1, 1993 in Ettelbruck. Given my interest in animals and nature, my career choice was obvious from childhood.

In October 2013, I was accepted into the Tierärztliche Hochschule Hannover, where I completed my studies in veterinary medicine in May 2019. There, I then wrote my doctoral thesis on communication with animal owners and within the veterinary team, as well as on the use of actors in communication training. At the same time, I worked as a research assistant at the university, where I was responsible, among other things, for creating and supervising courses for students.

In 2021, I successfully completed my doctoral thesis and started working as a veterinarian at the veterinary clinic in Posthausen near Bremen in autumn 2021. My main tasks were to provide emergency services as well as the monitoring and treatment of intensive care patients during their hospital stay. During this time, I also took part in regular training courses within the hospital.

After 10 years in northern Germany, I decided in 2023 to return to my native country, Luxembourg, and since July 2023, I have been part of the team at the Veterinary Practice in Mersch.
